### Drie dagen die veel te snel voorbij waren Whoever was sitting in the Polo Arena Ascona on Friday, September 4th, could hardly believe that the cup would already be handed over on Sunday evening. A week later, the weekend is still echoing – among the teams, the partners, the guests, many of whom stayed and are now sitting in the same stands at the show jumping competition. In Ascona, it became clear what makes polo in Ticiso special: sport in a confined space, speed, emotion, proximity to the audience. Beach party "simply white" on Friday, parade through the historic town center and gala "Welcome to the Jungle!" on Saturday, final on Sunday. Three atmospheres, three days – and a weekend to remember. > «Two team sponsors at their first participation and directly on the two highest podium places – that is coincidence. The Ascona Polo Cup is growing athletically, in terms of partnerships, and in its appeal far beyond the region», says Matteo Beffa, president of the Polo Club Ascona. ### Stokje overdragen: Van polosport naar springen The final act of the Ascona Polo Cup 2026 did not belong to a team, but to the region. After the final, the Polo Club Ascona symbolically passed the baton to Renato [Nachname] of the CSI Ascona – a sign that the equestrian sports days at Lake Maggiore will continue. Four days later, the international show jumping competition CSI Ascona began at the former airfield in its 33rd edition, featuring riders from over 20 countries – and comes to an end today, September 13th. Ten days of equestrian sports in Ascona, as announced: first polo, then show jumping. Polo and show jumping belong together in Ascona. Two disciplines, two tournaments, one common basis: the love for the horse, horsemanship and respect for the animal – and the connection to a region that supports both events. The Ascona Polo Cup, reorganized in 2026, was seen as the kickoff of these equestrian sports days, with CSI Ascona as the highlight. Anyone who loves horses was best off staying for ten days – and many did exactly that. ### The region as the winner Ten days of equestrian sport meant fully booked hotels, restaurants and shops for Ascona–Locarno, guests from all over Switzerland, from Italy and Germany – and images that travel around the world: horses on the Piazza, the lake in the background, the «Swiss Village of the Year» as a stage. Sport here is both an economic driver and an identity. Michela Ris, Deputy Mayor of Ascona, had put it this way beforehand: the Polo Club creates connection, inspiration and a form of quality of life that reaches far beyond the event. After these ten days, one thing is certain: that applies to both polo and show jumping. ### Every franc helps children The Ascona Polo Cup is the most important event of the year for the Styger Stiftung für Kinder. The proceeds from the raffle and the auction go entirely to children's projects in Switzerland. Whoever celebrates in Ascona gives something back. ### New in 2026: Digital table reservation and a dedicated media center For the first time, guests reserved their table for the gala and hospitality via the new Ascona table reservation system – directly, digitally, without detours. Developed by the Polo Club Ascona, the system is the first building block of a modular platform designed to support polo events in the future, from table reservations to live scoreboards. The tournament was complemented by the newly launched APC newspaper, APC-TV featuring match footage and atmosphere impressions, as well as the news portal news.poloclubascona.ch, where results, interviews, and photos remain available even now, after the tournament. ### Thank you to everyone who helped Polo Club Ascona thanks the players, grooms and stable teams, referees and helpers along the field, in the kitchen and behind the bar. The team sponsors Private Fine, Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, Charly Zenger, PKB Private Bank, Styger & Partner AG and Seven Group. The approximately twenty partners from Switzerland, Germany and France, including Oona Caviar, Blackforest Polo Gin, Delea Vini and Seven Catering. The municipality of Ascona, CSI Ascona and the region that support these equestrian days. And the guests who set the tone with their enthusiasm. ### Looking ahead: Ascona Polo Cup 2027 – the 17th APC is in planning After APC26 is before APC27. The 17th Ascona Polo Cup is scheduled for September 2027; the date will be announced at www.poloclubascona.ch announced. Nicolas Feuillatte takes the title home, Private Fine and Styger & Partner still have a score to settle – and the Polo Arena Ascona awaits the coming September. Whoever wants to be there, as a guest, as a team or as a partner: the initial discussions are starting now. ## FAQ – Ascona Polo Cup 2026 **Who won the Ascona Polo Cup 2026?**Team Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte won the 16th Ascona Polo Cup undefeated.
